is a little town in the northern part of the province Upper Austria, very close to the Czech border. The name of the checkpoint to Czech Republic is "Weigetschlag/Studánky" and leads to the Czech village Vyssy Brod (Hohenfurth).

In 1154 Bad Leonfelden was mentioned the first time in a documant as Lonveld. In 1900 the town was already a popular target for spa and recovery tourists. Bad Leonfelden is also very famous for it's gingerbread manufacturer Kastner. Kastner produces gingerbread in Bad Leonfelden since 1559.
