Scheibbs

lower austria scheibbsInhabitants: 4.500

Scheibbs is located on the gate of the Lower Austrian Alps. The lovely town was first mentioned in a document in the year 1160. The narrow streets, the mighty mansions, the impressive parish church and the adjacent castle radiate a romantic atmosphere and invite you to an old town stroll. Remainants of the fortifying walls with conserved towers still provide an impression of the former defensive power of the town. The "Schützenscheiben" museum hosts the largest collection of Schützenscheiben in the German part of the world.
