The Hungarian name for the lovely village of Rust in Burgenland ist Ruszt. So almost the same. Rust was part of Hungary quite a long time. But when the Austro Hungarian empire lost the first world war, the Austrians took the Burgenland region with the village Rust and made it a part of Austria.

Rust is one of those popular holiday destinations in Burgenland.  Rust is  located at the shore of the Neusiedler See and known for the "town of the storks". In 1317 the town was mentioned the first time in a document. The old town of Rust impresses by idyllic buildings and inner courtyards, covered stairs and arcades.

The manufacture was and still is a very important branch of industry in Rust. You are able to visit a wine seminar in the wine academy, and enjoy the capital wine directly by the wine farmer.
