Oggau is a little village in the federal state of Burgenland, located on the Western shore of the Lake Neusiedlersee.

Oggau was mentioned the first time in a document in 1344. Since drinking shells were found during excavations, Oggau is also called the "oldest red wine village".

The special location in Oggau is a 10x20 metre limestone called "Hölzlstein" which is located a bit outside of the village. The stone dates from a time when the area around Oggau was located under the sea level. According to a legend it was told that witches were living in the stone Hölzlstein.
