Mörbisch is located directly on the border to Hungary on the south western shore of the Lake Neusiedlersee. The largest lake in Austria.

Mörbisch was already colonized 5000 years ago by Romans. The first time the town was mentioned in a documet was in the year 1254 as "Possessio Megyes".

The most famous and popular event in Mörbisch are the "Seefestspiele Mörbisch". There is a huge stage on the Lake Neusiedlersee where every year the Seefestspiele take place. The Seefestspiele are opera plays which are held between July and August. 220.000 visitors every year come and watch the performances. They are directed by Prof. Harald Serafin, who is also known as "Mister Wunderbaaaaar".

One of the two white churches in the centre of Mörbisch. This is the Catholic church.The church mentioned the first time in 1331.

Just some steps away ... the white church for the Lutheranians. The church was built between 1791 and 1792 under the reign of pastor Andreas Prinner.The school directly next to the church was built by Jakob Breyer who lived from 1889 to 1924.
